For the first time, HP has sold more Cisco equipment to help companies
build data centers of cloud computing, according to market research
group, Synergy Research Group.
Cisco has led the industry since 2013. HP has reached the fourth quarter to tie Cisco with a market share of 13%. But in Q2, HP held its 13% stake, while Cisco has turned down a half percent pinch, leaving HP as the winner in the quarter.
This is a welcome sign for the first-loaded HP Enterprise, will come to life as Fortune 50 company on November 1, when HP runs out. It will be led by current CEO Meg Whitman HP.
Not Quite Apples to Apples:
Synergy traces what he calls the "market infrastructure equipment in the cloud" with a strange variety of suppliers.
The list includes hardware manufacturers, like HP, Cisco, Dell, IBM, EMC, Oracle and Lenovo. It also includes a few software vendors, Microsoft and VMware, as they provide the operating system software used in the construction of the roof. Some of the other software available in the cloud, also for the construction of the clouds or its management.
So it's not an apples to apples comparison, only an interesting look like all great players are making traditional selling stuff to build modern data centers. But the cloud infrastructure is a rapidly growing market now hot affecting about $ 16 billion euro for the quarter, having grown by 25% over the previous year, says Synergy.
Cisco has led this list primarily to its dominant position in the segment of computer network, with the help of his servants. IBM used to be number 3, but from the sale of its Lenovo server units, and sales in general decline, IBM has fallen to last place in the end of 2014 and has remained there ever since.
Microsoft went to third when IBM collapsed. The rise of Microsoft was driven by sales of Windows Server, a popular operating system for data center, VMware and Hyper-V competitor.
In total, servers, operating omnibus account, networking systems for most of the storage market, and - 89% - safely in the cloud, cloud management, and a type of software called virtualization that make up the rest.
